Gosh the phubbing tip got me. With so little downtime, I’m definitely guilty of trying to multitask and I could do way better if just connecting with those right in front of me.
Love this roundup!! I am new to Substack and to your newsletter, but I so wish I had read this before my relationships in the workplace article yesterday. 50%+ of the leaders I have assessed or coached over the last few years in some way shape or form are focused on “strengthening their relationships” - be it with their peers, their direct reports, or their board (for CEOs). This provides some awesome advice for all of those people. Thank you!
Welcome to Substack! This is the nicest compliment and I 100% agree on the usefulness of these ideas/practices in the workplace. I’m going to go check out your Substack article now!
I know you are writing a book on relational thriving, I really love Jan Resnick's How to love book,
particularly Chapter 9: The Ecology of Successful Relationships
mostly it's through couple therapy anecdotes
I don't know Resnick's book but I will check it out!

Oh boy, me too. Thankfully (?!), my kids like to keep me honest on this one. Especially the 8 y/o.
