Given that we score righteous points by viewing other people as biased/ignorant, I wonder how we can increase our internal rewards for being balanced? I try to give myself credit when I'm operating as a "good Stoic" (and thus give myself an internal reward) but it's easier said than done.

I love this notion of reinforcing ourselves for noticing our own biases, Jeff. Pride in being a good Stoic is a good one. Maybe that connects, too, to various values like being compassionate or intellectually humble.

I totally agree. Few things frustrate me more in life than the fact that I don’t get credit (I am 5) for the things I didn’t say, for the fights I didn’t engage in. Sometimes I give myself an actual literal gold star sticker. I mentioned I’m
